This depends on several factors, including the availability of the property and how quickly the application process can be completed.
If the property is vacant and ready, the process can move quite quickly. Referencing typically takes between one and two days once all required information has been provided by the tenant. In some cases it can be completed within 24 hours if documents are submitted promptly.
After referencing is approved, tenancy agreements are issued through an online system which allows both tenants and landlords to review and sign documents easily. Move-in funds, including the first month’s rent and security deposit, must also be paid before the tenancy can begin.
We also need to ensure the property is fully prepared for the new tenancy. This may include arranging cleaning, addressing any agreed requests such as furniture adjustments, and confirming all compliance certificates are in place. If the property is currently occupied, we also need time to prepare it once the previous tenant leaves.
In ideal circumstances a move-in could happen within around a week, although most tenancies typically begin within a couple of weeks to allow everything to be completed properly.
